This is going to sound terrible. . .

But I believe movie theaters should be segregated. 

 

Now before anyone starts trying to find my address and come after me hear me out.

 

This may only pertain to the Southeast, but its general knowledge that African Americans watch movies with a different sort of conduct. As the jokes always portray, there is the black family that ends up yelling at the screen. Now this stereotype occurs because it's literally almost every movie there is a group that will talk and "hoot 'n' holler" through the movies (again, this may only be in the southeast) I'm not saying this is good or bad so to speak, but it is inconvenient for those that have the opposite sort of conduct while watching a movie.

 

Look at churches, its common knowledge that there are black and white churches. This is because the method of worship is different. Again, ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with it. It's just different. Black churches are usually very excited, very loud, and they are worshipping their asses off (I kinda wish white churches were that excited about worship). White churches are very reverent, quiet, and, well, boring lol. Same for funeral homes. White: Quiet Black: Emotional (either negative or celebrated)

 

These things are segregated for a reason, the etiquette is simply different.

 

Most of this blog is useless and merely me venting, but think about it. Would it be all that awful? Stereotypes are there for a reason, they didn't appear out of thin air, most are turned into something hurtful, but they had an origin. As terrible as it sounds, its understood that when you go into a theatre that its predominantly an African American crowd, it's pretty much gonna be a noisy night. Again, a terrible thing to say, but it's really true. The conduct is going to be different.

 

I just think it would make the movie watching experience easier for all. White people can be the boring, and quiet like they are sitting in church, and the African American side can warn the actors that the monster is coming up behind them all they want, and everyone has a good time.

 

But I will say, White or Black, if you answer your phone in the theatre you get kicked out and have to buy everyone a small popcorn.

 

and theatres should have nurserys or something
